Over the last twenty five year the optical lab, where our lenses are made and your glasses produced, has been managed and developed by St. Lucian, Max Jean.

Max Jean- Lab Manager

Max is our longest serving member of staff and has been part of the Vision Express family for over 25 years.

Max has a breadth of knowledge and experience in optical manufacturing and is responsible for our in-house optical lab team. Max really is the reason why you can get your glasses to you within the hour!

Developing the optical lab and production of lenses for most glasses has involved steadily buying some of the latest optical lab equipment .

The lab team are constantly looking at the next step forward to provide a fast , efficient and accurate service, from when our optometrist has completed your eye examination , to receiving your new quality glasses.

Normal delivery of your new glasses is two days .Some lenses which require high vacuum coating we have to order off island

But, if you need you glasses quickly … the lab Team can “pull out all the stops” and have them ready in about an hour.

Which Lenses should I choose?

Certainly with our beautiful sunny climate …. Plus the harmful UV RAYS , TRANSITION LENSES … single vision or multifocal have become more and more popular.

Transition lenses always come with a written guarantee.

Less expensive Generic Photochromic are often sold as Transition by other stores ….. this would be you paying for a generic product at a branded price!

Check you are being supplied with genuine Transition Lenses.

But Vision Express does also have available a range of generic Photochromic lenses ….at very affordable prices …. If Transitions are outside your budget.

New technological advancement in TRANSITION lenses will make them last longer, change colors faster, go clearer indoors, and darker when you are outside.

Plus there is now a choice of colours in Transition lenses

Transition lenses can convert into sunglasses, but not entirely. If you need a darker lens to reduce the glare, then you need a dark sunglasses or a polarized sunglasses
